Prof. Wack's Research Group

Prof. Wack's lab at the University at Buffalo focuses on two different lines of research.  1) Medical Imaging Algorythms for improved analysis and imaging of the binaural auditory system.  Past algorithms include pattern recognition methods for the detection of multiple sclerosis lesions, metrics for assessing image raters agreement, methods for improving rater agreement, noise reduction, and physiologic parametric estimation.  Current work is focused on physiologic parametric estimates such as Cerebral Blood Flow and Volume using CT perfusion imaging, and is funded in part through a grant from the PUCCs foundation.

Auditory work includes the use of imaging to locate neural correlates of the binaural listening system.  Recent work used both Diffusion Tensor Imaging and functional MRI to localize neural regions involved with binraural listening. This latest work was supported with funding from Toshiba America Medical Systems.

Dr. Wack is an Associate Professor of Nuclear Medicine at SUNY Buffalo.  He has more than 35 peer reviewed journal articles, with nearly 1600 citations, and an H-index of 17.
